Causes of Insomnia


There are several causes of insomnia. Factors that cause a person to experience insomnia include pain, anxiety, fear, mental stress, and support the conditions for sleep. Nurses can help clients overcome insomnia through health education, creating a comfortable environment, client relaxation training, and other measures.
Causes of insomnia include:
1. Voice or sound: Usually people can adjust to the noise or sound that does not interfere with sleep. For example, someone who is afraid of being attacked or robbed, woke up in the night many times the sound just fine though.
2. Temperatures: Most people will try to sleep at a pleasant temperature itself. When the air temperature is lower when using high temperature blankets and clothes to wear thin, insomnia is often found tropic areas.
3. High a region; Insomnia is a symptom that is often found in mountain sickness (drunk thin air), occurs in mountaineers are more than 3500 meters above sea level.
4. Use of materials that interfere with the central nervous system: insomnia may occur due to the use of materials that contain caffeine such as coffee, tobacco contains nicotine and drugs containing acetamin body board or similar.
5. Poor diet. Eating a heavy meal before bed can make it difficult to fall asleep.
6. Disease psychology: Some psychological disease characterized by the presence of insomnia among other things such as affective disorders, neurotic disorders, multiple personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and others (Joewana, 2006).
Other causes of bias related to specific conditions, such as:
1. Advanced age (insomnia occurs more often in people aged over 60 years).
2. Pregnant women
3. History of depression / decrease
Mild insomnia or just a temporary usually triggered by:
1. Stress
2. Bustling atmosphere
3. Air temperature difference
4. Changes in the surrounding environment
5. Problems sleeping and waking schedule irregular
6. Side effects of treatment
Chronic insomnia is more complex and is often caused by a combination of factors, including underlying physical or mental illness. Chronic insomnia can be caused by behavioral factors, including the misuse of caffeine, alcohol, or other dangerous drugs.
